A first-time Defender owner in Lagos, Nigeria outlines an ambitious list of custom modifications for a 1995 Defender 110 that came already converted to a Rover 3.9 V8. Because aftermarket parts are expensive or unavailable locally, the plan relies on local fabricators to recreate looks like Puma bonnets and racing seats rather than importing genuine parts. Early progress includes a reshaped bonnet, with most other work still planned or in progress.

How it was done
Starting condition
The owner bought the Defender 110 two weeks before posting. It had already been converted by a previous owner from a TDI diesel to a Rover 3.9 V8 engine, which was said to run strongly.
Planned modifications
The owner listed many intended changes: a custom-shaped bonnet to mimic a Puma style, modified seat frames for a racing look, a customised LR2 dashboard, a custom cat-back exhaust with Kahn-style cross-hair tips, an automatic gearbox swap from a Discovery 2, Terrafirma fender flares and spacers, 22 inch wheels, red leather interior, keyless entry, LED lighting, and full rust repair with a matte black or Autobiography black repaint.
Work completed so far
The bonnet was reshaped by a body shop, reversing its central dip by hammering it the opposite way, though it was not yet filled or sanded. Seat frames were being welded as part of the racing-seat conversion. Other items were still being sourced or fabricated, including a locally built exhaust system.
