How it was done
The car and engine swap
Dave Burstyn, based in Essex, Ontario, converted his 1977 MGB by installing a Rover 3.5 litre aluminum V8 in place of the original engine. The conversion was carried out by Dave himself.
Cooling and charging
A flex fan and alternator were mounted as part of the engine bay layout to handle cooling and charging for the V8 installation.
Brakes
Power brakes were fitted to the car, shown as part of the upgraded underbonnet and pedal box work supporting the V8 conversion.
Interior and safety
The cabin was updated with a leather wrapped steering wheel and Miata seats. A Schroth 'Rallye' 4-point safety harness was installed, noted for its design intended to prevent the occupant from submarining in a crash.
Wheels
The car was fitted with Minotar wheels as part of the overall build.
